Fondatzione Il Bisonte

In 2026, I was awarded a six month residency at the internationally renowned Fondazione il Bisonte - per lo studio dell'arte Grafica, Florence, Italy. I won the Thomas Wood scholarship allowing me to study and focus on traditional and contemporary printmaking techniques, particularly the Italian legacy of etching. Through this residency, I gained valuable insight into approaches that balance rigorous technical precision with experimentation and innovation in contemporary print. The award that enabled my participation at Il Bisonte significantly expanded my knowledge of etching, allowing me to integrate the skills and perspectives developed in Scotland with those encountered in contemporary Italian printmaking. My work has since been recognised through inclusion in the nationally significant archive at Fondazione Il Bisonte, which now houses over thirty-five of my prints across ten editions as well as in their exhibitions and publications.
